Rental Generators - Power Plus

Power outages are becoming increasingly more common during the winter months.  Climate changes have seen the number of major storms increase and they are causing a wide path of destruction and inconvenience.

If you have a business or educational institution your emergency preparedness plan should include a power generator to keep the power on during a power outage.

This not only applies to brick and mortar businesses, but on-line businesses as well.  During a loss of power an online educational program loses contact with its students.

The availability of a commercial rental power generator is as close as your telephone or computer.  As one of winter’s biggest necessities, a rental power generator will keep your doors open and your electronic equipment in operation.

In addition, a rental power generator is probably one of the most important items on your list if you are planning an outdoor activity such as a wedding or concert.

Proper maintenance of your generator
will assure your safety and that your generator will work when you need it to. If your power generator either portable or permanently placed requires diesel fuel, check your fuel periodically for oxidation. Diesel fuel generally oxidizes after 12 months. A fuel stabilizer will keep your fuel from going bad.

Check your fuel filter often for any clogging. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions to prevent any problems with your fuel filter.

Power Outage

Many of nature’s elements can be blamed for causing massive power outages.  Now nature’s critters are taking their turn.

Recently a squirrel was blamed for causing a power outage that shut off power to thousands of homes and businesses.  It seems that the squirrel had entered an electrical substation and found his way into the equipment causing a short that shut down the equipment. Sixty two hundred users felt the effect and lost their power.

A business that had just rented a commercial power generator was able to withstand the outage with minimal impacts to the business.

Truck Collides with Power Pole Causing Power Outage

Late last week a truck collided with a power pole causing a commercial and residential power outage for over 1600 customers.  The driver was critically injured.

This has become a common occurrence in many areas.  A vehicle for whatever reason slams into a power pole and creates havoc to commercial and residential power customers.

Backup Power Generators

As a business owner, you rely on your commercial and residential power to run.  In the event of a power outage, your business stops.  People are stuck inside your building.  People can’t pay for anything because there is no power for your registers.  People can’t enter your building.  If you have a perishable inventory, it can be lost.  If you rely on technology for records and inventory, your system can go down, and information can be lost.

One of your most important investments is a commercial power generator. A commercial power generator will be one of the only items in a business that will essentially pay for itself during one single power outage.

Your potential liability during a power outage at your business increases ten-fold.  If just one customer falls in the darkness, you could be liable for their injuries.

At about the same time, across the nation, a local fair was affected by a power outage and people were stranded on rides for hours.

Over 49 businesses sustained damage from a storm and recent power outage in Waco, Texas. These businesses suffered thousands of dollars in lost food stores and electrical equipment.  Over 100,000 people lost power to their homes also. Power was off for 4 days or more and crews stayed busy accommodating emergencies with downed power lines and trees.  Damage was extensive to homes and businesses.

Damage to Businesses keeps Mounting Although power was beginning to be restored after 4 days, many people continue to ring up the costly effects of having no power generator for backup power.  Electrical problems caused during the outage have required the use of professionals to repair in order to get the businesses to open up. This process continues very slowly due to just the vast number of repairs needed.
