Senior Sales Application Engineer

The role of the Senior Sales Application Engineer at Power Plus will be to sell and support the functions of the Sales Team of Power Plus.  This role will be responsible for all aspects of application engineering and proposal development and review.  Additionally this role will be responsible for creating one line conceptual designs, engineering support, vendor management, development of new markets and participation in industry trade events and networking opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all equipment sales functions and review all proposals for technical accuracy
  • Develop conceptual one line proposals for equipment applications.
  • Assist in responding to RFP's, proposal development and writing.
  • Develop new sales channels and industry networking.
  • Attend industry training and work with Vendors to stay current with technology.
  • Perform equipment start up and training for customers.
  • Site audits and energy performance studies.
  • Create sales support documentation and technical articles for publication.
  • Speak and attend industry events.


Key Attributes:

  • Strong technical knowledge base in UPS market and application engineering
  • Ability to create conceptual one line diagrams
  • Sound principals in electrical design and implementation
  • Knowledge base on Electrical Switchgear and Generator application
  • Ability to create technically accurate proposals and RFP's
  • Trained in UPS equipment maintenance, repair and start up.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer follow up.
  • Network of vendors, industry experts and end users.
  • Government RFP proposal and development.


The position is primarily an office based position in a professional office environment, but travel and customer facing capabilities are also encouraged.  Travel would typically be less than 20%.  Compensation is a base with commission paid monthly on delivered products and booked services. 

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in applying UPS, Switchgear and electrical infrastructure proposals
  • Field experience in maintaining and performing UPS service and start up
  • Strong background in writing technical proposals
  • Electrical engineering education or comparable industry experience


Reporting Structure:
The position will report to the Director of Sales for Power Plus and could eventually be a supervisory position.




Director of Sales

The role of Director of Sales for Power Plus is to be an active sales Manager in the critical power market place.  In this role the Director of Sales will be responsible for recruiting, training, hiring and day to day activities of the sales department of Power Plus.  This would include Service Sales, T&M Sales, Equipment Sales and Application Engineering.  In addition this role would be responsible for setting pricing standards and managing profitability within the product segments.

Primary Functions:

  • Day to Day management of sales teams
  • Pricing responsibility and profit management
  • Lead development and proposal review
  • Recruiting, hiring and ongoing coaching of sales teams
  • Attending industry trade events and networking opportunities
  • Managing CRM platform and providing accurate forecasting
  • Sales execution and customer support
  • Working with marketing to create marketing strategies
  • Prospecting and personal sales
  • Developing new product sales and roll outs
  • Industry Networking
  • Budgeting
  • Field Sales and helping close opportunities
  • Sell sheet development and technical writing

Reporting Structure:
This role reports to the VP of Sales for Power Plus and will also be responsible for managing the inside sales teams including Service, Equipment and T&M sales.
